Moral Dilema

So. I was told by SOMEONE (no names here), that on Friday Night, David's house would be broken into, and the TV stolen (42" Piece of Shit LCD). I didn't think it would go down, so I just forgot. Then David calls me at like 10ish, and says "Guess what! Someone broke into my fuckin' house, and stole my fuckin' TV!!". So I'm like... ohh shit. The point is, I know who did it, and can EASILY go to the Police with the information. Now let me point out, they would have found out regardless of my saying anything, because I played dumb with everyone but the Police. David figured it out within a day. All I did was speed up the inverstigation (by now, you realize I solved my moral dilema) by providing verbal evidence. In addition to this, I told them the suspect cracks easily, and once cracked, spills a pretty damn big egg. And that led to us talking about how my name would have likely come up by the suspect telling the Police that he had told ME that it was going to go down, and with that, would end my riding, my connections, and my CAREER (which I have yet to start by the way). So now I'm SO glad that I chose the path that I did, because at least I saved a TV, I saved my life (pretty much*), and so on.

* The Suspect told me that if this got out, the initiator of the crime would come and break the suspects legs, and my legs. I pointed this out to the Officer I was speaking to (a friend) and was told "Well, I'll break his legs first.". Not to be taken literally of course, it means that I'm basically in like a small town Witness Protection.
